The cheapest way to get to Big Sky is to take the Skyline Bus. It costs $5 and you have to take a ~$20 ube/lyft to get to either Walmart or Gallatin Gateway Inn.

We don't recommend this option, and here's why. Uber drivers don't like this route. The economics are as follows:

-of that $170, the driver makes around 50% (but we'll say 75% for argument's sake) = $127.50

We don't recommend this option, and here's why. Uber drivers don't like this route. The economics are as follows:
-Round trip takes 2.5 hours
-of that $170, the driver makes around 50% (but we'll say 75% for argument's sake) = $127.50
-50 miles each way, assume 25MPG (lots of hills and snow reduce this greatly), assume $3 per gallon = $12
-Assume driver is in the oldest car allowed (16 years) so no depreciation is factored in. Total is $115.50 or $46.20/hr. If they get 50% of the ride, its $29.20/hr.
-On big weekends like Christmas or Presidents Day, Uber's can find other rides in Big Sky to supplement their income. But otherwise, they just decline the ride. We know, because people call us in a panic because their scheduled Uber was cancelled on them.
